Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, USA where Michelle first began practicing Bikram yoga in the late 1990’s, she lived in Melbourne, Australia for nearly ten years before attending and graduating from Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in India in Spring 2016. Following graduation, Michelle taught yoga in India, Spain, Italy (where she was certified as a pyroPilates instructor), Latvia, and Florida (USA). After nearly a year of traveling and teaching brought Michelle to Key West, Florida (where she completed her Barre teaching certification), she decided to stay in paradise and opened Next Hot Yoga, a pop-up yoga studio offering traditional 26&2 hot yoga, mat pilates and Barre.
Boris is a Personal Fitness Trainer and practices one on one and group cardio fitness kick boxing class. He has been a licensed trainer since 2007. He has been involved with martial arts and fitness his entire life. Boris’ goal is to help others feel better mentally and physically. He is the choice to help you reach your fitness goals. Weighing in at over 300 lbs., Joshua Dais turned to fitness to improve his health and physique. Quickly fitness became a lifestyle, which eventually lead to a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals. Josh has recently moved to the island, and is excited to start teaching group fitness classes and personal training at Body Zone Fitness.
Born and raised in Key West, FL Megan has had a passion for fitness and athletics from a very young age. “I’ve found endless satisfaction in pushing the physical limits we put on our bodies, by breaking down the mental barriers we put on ourselves.” Her love for teaching and group fitness came from the camaraderie and motivation she felt on the soccer field in her youth. At the age of 21 she decided it was time to turn her love of fitness into a lifetime career. Getting spinning certified through MADDOG athletics was just the beginning. Wanting more to offer to the industry she then got her personal training and group exercise certifications through AFFA. Her heart runs deep in the Key West community and she wants her riders to leave class feeling stronger in all aspects of their lives. Megan’s spin class is filled with high energy music, lots of dynamic movement on the bike, and a large dose of positive reinforcement for the mind. “Bring the body and the mind will follow.”
Wendy Bolen is originally from Ohio and has been in the Fitness Industry for over 25 years. Wendy has been teaching group exercise classes at BodyZone Fitness Center since 2004 and currently teaches Core Strength. Her teaching style infuses a little bit of everything: hi-lo, step, dance, kickboxing, resistance training, Intervals, and flexibility. Wendy brings lots of energy, funky music and fun group camaraderie to her classes. She believes in making exercise FUN, not grueling or boring! Wendy is also a full time USCG licensed boat captain and a PADI dive instructor. Besides working out, Wendy’s favorite hobby is shark diving. She has dived with great white sharks, bull sharks, tiger sharks, whale sharks, great hammerheads and oceanic white-tip sharks. Denis is teaching Yoga on Friday’s at noon. He has developed a new blend of classic techniques to make the benefits of yoga known to all age groups and abilities. Anyone and everyone can benefit from Yoga and Denis is the perfect person for the job. He has been a dance instructor all is life. Denis has been a certified Yoga teacher since 2000. Uri is a Spinning Instructor at BodyZone and teaches class on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s in the morning. His class is great for the beginner to the novice and has great energetic music to get you going for the day. He is a Certified Madd Dogg Athletics Instructor and a licensed massage therapist. Uri is a native who was inspired to lose weight through cycling. He motivates students to reach peak physical performance, maintains exertion levels, focus on breathing and the entire body for the ultimate workout. Come and check out his classes!
Deisy has been teaching Zumba® since 2010 and has multiple certifications. Her classes are energetic, tailored to her students needs, and fun! She turns her Zumba® moves into a calorie burning and strength training class. Deisy will be teaching Zumba Toning® and Zumba Mix®. Be sure to catch one of her classes!
Chelsea is a AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor and has been teaching at BodyZone since 2014. Her teaching style focuses on interval, Endurance, Core and Weight training for all age groups. Artem and Oxana are available for training. They are both world renowned bodybuilders with multiple awards in bodybuilding and competition and come with a wealth of knowledge about fitness. She was born and raised in the Republic of Panama and made her home in Key West in 2002. She is a full time Key West Police Officer and also does Personal Training and teaches fitness classes. She became a AFFA Aerobics and Fitness Personal Trainer and is also a certified Mad Dog Athletics Spinning Instructor. Dean is a certified senior and adaptive trainer and a certified health coach who has been through all the ups and downs and turmoils of life and understands how to pull out of the rut. He teaches classes for the 50+ group and those with special needs. His focus is on flexibility, strength and cardio in Aging Boldly. Amber completed her 200 hour certification under Kim Manfredi and Emily Lodge at Charm City Yoga, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. She is also a National Certified Counselor and holds a Master of Art. Amber has a background in clinical mental heath counseling, and while working in the field it became evident to her that helping others was a holistic process. It was then that Amber completed yoga teacher training and gained a deeper understanding into the mind-body connection to better serve others. Amber teaches an invigorating yoga flow that facilitates body awareness, emotional consciousness and the connection of movement with breath.
Teresa is a certified Yoga Instructor and is teaching Vinyasa style of Yoga. She has been teaching for 2 years, after she experienced immersion training through Jai Yoga in Thailand.
