    The ‘PLANK’ is one of the most effective exercises. PLANKS increase core strength and spinal stabilization while maintaining a neutral spine. In addition, multiple muscles are trained isometrically at one time, making it a wonderfully efficient exercise — just the way your body was designed to function.

    A “front plank” strengthens the abdominals and low back muscles. The “side plank” is an excellent exercise for training obliques, and the “reverse plank” isolates and strengthens the gluteal muscles, hamstrings, abs, and low back. At the same time, practically every other muscle in the body is ‘firing off’ to help balance and stabilize.

    Planks are simple, but they’re not easy. And, if not done with good technique, there is a risk of injury.

    Spinning® classes are offered in the mornings and evenings. BodyZone has 29 bikes. Uri and Janeth teach Spinning® classes and they all have a different “spin” on their class. The Friday class with Janeth is a Pedal and Pump class!

    Spinning® is a non-impact cardiovascular workout that takes place on a stationary bike. The concept incorporates the mind and body connection leaving the “riders” with a great sense of accomplishment. It does not require a lot of coordination and is appropriate for men and women of all ages and abilities. If you have never done spinning before, that is OK. We will teach you everything you need to know. A heart rate monitor is highly suggested and encouraged. Make sure you are well hydrated and bring extra water and a towel to class.
